Meet Josh and Shelbi, the family behind Baby Box
We're Josh and Shelbi Sanders, BYU-Idaho students in Rexburg, Idaho. We started Baby Box to help young families like ours know what their little ones really need to wear, and to make keeping up simple.
Our story
We met when we were younger, and we've always shared the same goal: bringing families closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ, and closer to each other.
We're an aunt and uncle to four, and our favorite thing to do is spend time with them. Shelbi loves dressing them up and finding the cutest outfits. Josh would rather rustle them up and get them laughing.
As BYU-Idaho students and a young married couple, we noticed how many families around us weren't sure what clothes their babies actually needed, or how to keep up as they kept growing. Shelbi came up with the idea of a pick-your-own clothing box. Josh put her dream together, and Baby Box was born.

How we researched it
Before launch, we surveyed parents about how they buy baby clothes. Their answers shaped the service:
- 8 of 9 wanted to choose every item, so there are no mystery boxes.
- Most expected to pay $35–45 a month, so the Monthly Box is $42 with shipping included.
- Free mail-in returns was the top return request, so returns are free.
- Parents pointed out that kids grow at different speeds and more slowly after the first year. So you can change sizes anytime, and there's an every-other-month plan.
- Quality was the biggest reason people said they'd cancel, so we don't carry thin, fast-fashion pieces.

We pack every box ourselves in Rexburg, Idaho and ship it with UPS to families in Utah, Idaho and Arizona.
